Sunday- Hope is Alive!

Walking with Jesus to the Cross — Easter Sunday

At first, it feels like just another grieving morning. Women go to the tomb to anoint Jesus’ body. But when they arrive—the stone is rolled away.

The tomb is empty.

And the message rings out:
“He is not here; He has risen!” (Luke 24:6)

Everything changes in this moment.

Death is defeated. Sin is conquered. Hope is alive. Jesus appears to His followers—not as a memory, but as a living Savior.

What this means for us

This isn’t just a moment in history—it’s the foundation of our faith.

Because Jesus is alive:

  • hope is not lost

  • sin does not have the final word

  • your story is not over

For us in Douglas County, in our everyday lives—this means resurrection power is not distant. It’s personal. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is at work in us (Romans 8:11).

That means:

  • new beginnings are possible

  • freedom is real

  • life with Jesus starts now and lasts forever

Prayer

Jesus, thank You that You are alive. Fill my life with Your hope and resurrection power. Amen.
