Tuesday- Truth that Cuts Through
Walking with Jesus to the Cross — Day 3
Have you ever had someone say something that stopped you in your tracks—because you knew it was true?
That’s Tuesday of Holy Week.
This is one of the most intense days in Jesus’ ministry. He’s questioned, challenged, and tested by religious leaders trying to trap Him. But every time, He responds with wisdom, clarity, and authority.
He tells parables that expose hardened hearts.
He warns about hypocrisy in strong terms (Matthew 23).
He speaks about the future and what’s to come.
At one point, He says, “These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.” (Matthew 15:8)
Jesus isn’t interested in surface-level faith.
He’s after something deeper.
What this means for us
If we’re honest, this is the day that can make us uncomfortable.
Because Jesus isn’t just confronting them—He’s confronting anything in us that’s out of alignment.
In Douglas County, it’s easy to carry a cultural version of Christianity:
knowing the language
showing up occasionally
appearing “put together” spiritually
But Jesus cuts through all of that.
He invites us into a faith that is:
authentic, not performative
surrendered, not selective
rooted in truth, not convenience
This is also a hopeful day—because truth, even when it’s hard, leads to life.
Jesus doesn’t expose hypocrisy to push us away…
He exposes it so we can be made whole.
Prayer
Jesus, help me to be honest about where my heart really is. Align my life with Your truth. Amen.
